I am a licensed clinical social worker, masters level addiction counselor and certified EMDR practitioner with extensive experience working with children, youth and families for more than 15 years. I also assist individuals struggling with relationships, transition and post traumatic stress disorder. I am passionate about helping people, families and groups recognize and manifest their potential individually and succeed in their relationships with others. My approach in facilitating awareness and growth with clients includes using intuitive knowledge coupled with psychotherapeutic and empirically-based approaches in counseling, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic and humanistic therapy, brief strategic, family systems, stages of change and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing.
I am skilled at providing a safe relationship whereby clients are able to explore difficult situations, and experiences while also learning new ways to address old patterns and create more positive results in their lives. Painful experiences are processed while hope is created and instilled for creating a new future. My focus is on "quality" client care rather than "quantity.” I keep my client base small and provide personalized attention- individualized treatment and support that is designed specifically to address unique life situations and goals.
I believe counseling is a "product" and that clients should be able to recognize measurable improvements in their lives through the counseling process.
